Olive Festival

Peninsula Providore are delighted to be hosting the South Australian Olive Festival at their Nangkita Grove this October.   Olives SA were successful in winning a Building Better Regions Grant to aid in delivering economic and social benefits to regional Australia. 

The South Australian Olive Festival will commence with a gala dinner on Saturday 22nd October, curated by Callum Hann from Sprout Adelaide.  Callum, a Masterchef All Star will create an olive and extra virgin olive oil inspired 3 course menu to be showcased in a marquee at the Peninsula Providore Nangkita Grove, accompanied by local South Australian Wines.

Sunday, will be a great day family out on the farm.  The Olive Festival will have a farmer's market type atmosphere, welcoming the Olives SA members to have stalls for tastings and promotion of their range of products.  Local farmers, and producers of artisan products will also be invited to have a stall to sell their wares to visitors.  A full program of tastings, demonstrations and presentations will allow visitors to gain an insight into South Australia's highly successful olive industry.

Admission is free to the Festival on the Sunday, however visitors will need to pre-book their food to avoid disappointment as limited options will be available for purchase on the day.

Experience grove life at the Peninsula Providore Farm, Nangkita Grove.  Be guided on a walking tour of the grove to enjoy the tranquil surrounds and wildlife, followed by a rewarding regional produce platter and wine tasting.

Ever wondered what the difference is between green olives and black olives, or why extra virgin olive oil is so good for you.  Join the Peninsula Providore team for a guided walking grove tour to explore the wide open spaces of their Nangkita grove, and the varieties that they grow in their pristine environment.


Be rewarded after your walk with a range of the fabulous wares from Peninsula Providore and other Fleurieu Food producers, complemented by Precious Little Wines served amongst the grove (weather permitting) or in the farm shop.


Experience includes: 

  • guided grove walk - please wear clean (no dirt - farm biosecurity rules apply) walking shoes - walk should take approx 1 hour, covering just over 1km.

  • Regional Produce platter for 2 - includes local cheeses, meats, olives and almonds etc

  • Precious Little Wine Flight - taste 4 wines from the Precious Little Wines range of wines

  • Peninsula Providore Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting - taste 3 oils from the Peninsula Providore range accompanied by their dukkah and za'atar

LONG LUNCH 2021 & 2022

A fabulous winter's day out was had by all as we celebrated our inaugural 'Plated Provenance' winter long lunch on Saturday 10th July, 2021.

100 people gathered in the Peninsula Providore production shed to celebrate all things local produce.  Guests were treated to a five course menu curated by the Kuti Shack team, showcasing a wonderful array of local produce including Peninsula Providore Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 81 acres pork, Goolwa PipiCo pipi's, Pethick's Orchards apples and an array of other local producers.

Paul Smith kept the atomsphere humming with some familiar tunes, and the sun shone so guests could watch the Kuti Shack team in action at the Nangkita Pizza oven, and Schwenker Grill.

We look forward to hosting another long lunch next year, and adding more events to our calendar.  Make sure you join our friends of Peninsula Providore to remain in the loop!
